Default A Couple Of Suggestions...

After 100 hours of gaming, I have a couple of suggestions...

1) Auction house. The selling/buying of stuff in GW is hopeless. It would be infinitely better to get to list stuff for sale, and there was an auction for them. Would also fix much of the spam in towns, but not all, which brings me to...

2)...an /ignore function. The one in the game is broken. Yesterday in a town there was a guy spamming "I want gold give me gold" once per second on the local and $ channel, and there was no way of /ignoring him.

3) ALESIA IS A GOSHDARN N00B! Sorry, but I've been wiped once too many because Alesia always rushes into melee combat even though she's a healer hench. I plan every battle just to keep her alive, but it's not possible to keep 8-10 enemies off her back when she rushes them. Pretty please, with sugar on top, give her the same ranged/support script as the ranger henchwoman, she does a good job of staying out of melee. Even better would be to be able to select the behaviour of henchmen - e.g. "wait here", "ranged", "support", "melee" - but for the time being I'd settle for giving Alesia a ranged/support script. All the other henches are good, but Alesia is hopeless.

4) Please fix the "healer runs to where party was wiped upon respawn" bug. Nothing is more fun than Alesia first getting the party killed by rushing, then, when the party respawns, she runs back to where we were wiped, straight through hills, under the ground or up in the air, effectively ending the mission.

5) Please fix the "henchman gets stuck on animated objects" pathfinding bug. Several times I've been missioning along, only to find that, hey, Orion is missing, or Alesia is missing. Backtracking I've find them stuck on dwarven powder stations, charr flame chalices, or other animated objects, and running around the object frees them.

6) Please fix the "Guild invitations never disappear" bug. I'm not in a guild because I'm waiting for friends to buy the game and we'll form a guild together, but not wearing a cape means I get a number of offers to join every day, and the offers never disappear. Even when I go on quests I have a permanent green "You have x offers to join a guild" on the screen.

I don't want to come off negative, I love the game, but these are things that have annoyed me.

Thumbs up

Very nice observation.. I came on here to suggest an auction because of the truly dreadful selling abilities.

I would also like to suggest that ppl that have managed to get 15-30 weapons are not allowed to sell them to lower level players that are nowhere near able to get them there selfs. Apart from anything, this stops player with 'not bad' weapons e.g. a bow 10-15 selling them at all. I walk through ascalon asking if anyone wants to buy a bow 10-15 and a level 8 walks up to me and tells me he has a 15-20 bow he bought off someone but thanks anyway (not that he has the marksmanship to use it properly anyway).

Maybe a stricter equiping rule, like if you don't match the criteria then you just cant use it.

I've had a few henches fly through mountains after respawn. then they appear underground and cant move. I've also had a few henches stuck behind objects and unable to move.

but i remain with my top points:
> auction
> weapon equiping restrictions

Yeah, the uber-loot filtering in to lower levels is a bit annoying. It certainly would help a bit if you couldn't equip a weapon you don't have the requisites for using. Or the penalty for using such a weapon was huge (e.g. damage 1/10).

Auction House can go to Hell, it is a profiting tool not a resource for buyers. If it is so hard to get an item that you have to rely on another to provide for it then they need to make a more reasonable way of obtaining it, making an auction house is a tool for exploiting rare items to outragious prices.

Moreover, There aren't set items in this game, there are dozens of types of items with dozens of types of modifications and attack/defense power, it would be totaly deficent to try and market each item uniquely in a worldwide environment. It shouldn't and couldn't be done.

Yes it could be done and it must be added... the spam in places like Lion's Arch is unbelievable at times... to the point of annoying beyond reason!

I've been thinking about this and an auction house with the following rules would work, I think:

- Common White and Blue items cannot be sold in auctions.
- Crafting materials cannot be sold in auctions. UNLESS they are in complete stacks of 250, anything lower cannot be sold.

- Purple and Gold Items can sold in auctions.

- All users (That means one account only) are limited to selling only ONE ITEM at a time... to prevent a flood of items from single people, and those trying to scam additional funds by having auctions going over a number of characters.

The last one is the main thing. At the end of the day the auction house of World of Warcraft has loads of overpriced items, which never sell and loads of good value stuff that does... so long as people cannot spam it with junk it could work.

ANYTHING that would reduce trade cannel spam by more then 50% is fine by me.

Agreed:

This is the 'War Machine' quest, where you have to blow up the switches with the powder kegs. As you can see, 3 henchies got stuck on the barrels. No matter what I tried, I could not get them off. I decided to do the quest without them, and got owned. I could not res, as my half my party was alive, but too far away to res me. I had to mapwarp back to Yak's Bend and trek all the way back again, only to have them GET STUCK AGAIN.

Agree with everything said. About the auction house (I have said this before just hoping a dev picks it up) I would use the vendor system from Horizons. It allowed players to list a set number of items at a vendor for any price. When they listed an item, they had to pay 10% of the list price up front which kept people from listing items unnecessarily and removed gold from the economy. When a player purchased something, the money went into the players account (vault in our case). The vendor buy interface allowed for filtering of items (amount, type, etc). Pretty simple setup and at the same time powerful.
